Hello everyone! I am back with a new art journal project. My Art Journal for today is a Trick or Treat – Halloween page.
I started this page by blending a shade of purple (Jelly), mostly towards the top and bottom of the page. Right in the middle, I blended a shade of yellow (sunshine). And to make things look a bit less neat and to add a bit of spook to it, I added vintage photo distress ink on the page, mostly on the edges. But you can do whatever you want. Your journal, your rules.
I wanted to add a “spooky” tree and a full moon on my page. To achieve that, I fussy cut a tree out of black cardstock, and a moon from white cardstock. I colored the moon with the same yellow I used to color the page and added a few dabs of vintage photo ink in the middle and darkened the edge. I sprayed water on my hand and sprinkled the moon with it. The inks I used, react with water and any other wet medium.
To add a “Trick Treats” sign on the page, I added a light post cut out from the same black cardstock I used for the tree. To cut the “glass” in the light post, I used a craft knife. I added two arrows and wrote on them with a black gel pen.
Lastly, I stamped a few pumpkins on white cardstock, colored them with inks (sunshine, firebrick, and spaced marmalade), fussy cut them with scissors, and glued them to the page. To add some highlights, I used a white gel pen
